Hi, I'm Nina.

I am a freelance journalist based in Grinnell, Iowa. My work has been published in PolitiFact, Ballotpedia, The Daily Iowan and the Marshalltown Times-Republican. I work as editor and reporter for the newspaper The Scarlet & Black.

I have worked as a copy editor and am formally trained in AP Style. Prior to working at The Scarlet & Black, I worked as a political science research assistant for Dr. David Schultz at Hamline University, and facilitated outreach and reviewed survey responses and methodology with the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Legislature. At Grinnell College, I study mathematics and statistics; I am always looking for ways to apply my studies in the field of data journalism.

This summer, I will be interning for The Kitsap Sun in Bremerton, Washington, part of the USA Today network.

I am always on the lookout for job-shadowing opportunities or chats with other journalists.
